About Us
High Point Kennels was founded in 2000 by Susan Herrel, CVT, as a home based breeding facility for purebreed German Shorthaired Pointers. The first criteria was to insure that my dogs had sound AKC conformation qualities to help eleminate athletic breakdown in the hunt field. After finishing three males in the show ring it was time to test their hunting abilities. My dogs regularly participate in NSTRA (National Shoot to Retrieve Association) dog trials and enjoy wild bird hunting in Colorado and Kansas.
Susan is a Certified Veterinary Technician with over 20 years in the veterinary business. The kennel is licensed by the State of Colorado and registered with the AKC. Please contact us with questions about any aspect of our business. We’re always happy to hear from fellow birddog lovers.
